Market Monday - White Rock

(May 01, 2017 )

These days, there always seems to be a news article or media outlet reporting on the latest market trends for Vancouver and the Lower mainland.  While this information intends to be helpful, what it fails to recognize is that the market is micro, not macro.

What I mean by this is that we cannot use one large brush to paint an accurate picture of the real estate market as a whole.  A market trend in downtown Vancouver doesn't necessarily translate to market trends in South Surrey or Langley.

In addition to the market activities in each sub-community, the type of product will also have its own unique trend.  As we have seen in the last few months, detached home sales in many communities have slowed down, while condo and townhouse sales continue to reach new benchmark prices.  This is why it's important to always research the area you are looking to sell or buy in, instead of taking news articles entirely on face value.  I am always happy to provide you with local market information and trends.  Send me an email, call or text and I'd be happy to pass this along to you!

I will also be providing market updates each Monday, highlighting a different community each week.  This week I will focus on White Rock.  Next week I'll take a look at Morgan Creek.  If there is an area you would like to see featured, please let me know!
